Due to continued growth we are looking for an APPRENTICE cycle mechanic to work with our team.

We are a small, dynamic company looking to grow and you will work with us in those efforts.

You must be passionate about bikes and be mechanically minded. Full CYCTECH training will be provided after an initial 3 month period

We are looking for:

Of key importance will be your ability to liaise with clients and provide unparalleled customer service whether face to face, online or by phone.

You must be flexible with a 'whatever it takes' attitude.

Salary: £4.30-£4.80 per hour

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Technical one
Technical one is the foundation of all the Cytech Technical courses and ensures candidates develop core competencies in skills fundamental to professional cycle maintenance.

What does this course include?
Technical one is intended to be the minimum standard to which all mechanics should work and includes theory and practical training and assessment in the following areas:

Health & Safety
Workshop practices
Conforming to British Standards
Pre-delivery inspection
Adjustment, set-up & frame alignment
Torque wrench settings
Lubricants & greases
Tyres & tubes
Consumer Protection Act
How long is the course?
There are two parts to Cytech technical one, both need to be completed to receive the full technical one qualification.

Cytech theory one
Cytech technical one practical
Theory one can be completed as a distance learning course from the comfort of your own home and you will receive a Cytech technical one Theory certificate when you pass.

Technical two
The international benchmark in bicycle maintenance

Cytech technical two provides full practical training and assessment in the core area of assembly, set-up and ongoing servicing and maintenance.

What does this course include?
Intensive training and assessment covering the following topics:

Health & Safety in the workshop
Headsets, gears, rim brakes, hubs & bearings
Introduction to disc brakes and hydraulic bleeding
Internal hub gears
Wheel truing & spoke replacement
Wheel building

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Succesfull apprentices will move to the position of trainee mechanic for 6 further months and full time mechanic thereafter.
