What will the apprentice be doing?
- To help set up the classroom for the daily programme and to help tidy away
- To act as a key person to small groups of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met
- Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members
- To advise line managers and Designated Safeguarding Leads of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary

Advanced Supporting Teaching and Learning Apprenticeship, to include:
- Level 3 Diploma for the Supporting Teaching and Learning
- Functional Skills (as required)
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities
- Personal Learning and Thinking qualification
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This will allow the apprentice to gain valuable experience for their CV alongside the qualification and an insight into how children make progress into and throughout primary school. Depending on reviews, the school would hope that after completing Level 3, the apprentice may be able to stay on. Beyond that, if further employment is not available at Lawford Mead, then there may be a role elsewhere within the Trust (i.e. partner school, Kings Road Primary).
