What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties to include, but not limited to;
- Act as the first point of contact for IT issues for both on site and off site employees supporting user requests, ensuring response and resolution within standards and follow up of any open requests.
- Logging and updating of support tickets through to final completion.
- Provide PC Lifescycle support - Learn to install and configure Desktop PC and Laptop hardware in line with Company build policy, provide hardware and software support.
- Configure and manage MFPs and printing solutions including large MFP devices, label printers and small laser printers.
- Software installation and configuration.
- Ensure that relevant security patches and software upgrades are applied.
- End user training.
- Assisting the European helpdesk function.
Other duties may have to be undertaken which will be determined by the Company, taking into account the current level of responsibilities, experience and capabilities including support to other sites.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 Information, Communication Technician apprenticeship standard.
- Level 2 Maths and English functional skills if required.
