What will the apprentice be doing?
The apprentice will learn all aspects of the job from:
- job evaluation
- programming, setting machines
- inspection of parts
- sub con aspects including coatings and costings.
The result will be a well-rounded engineer that can run several machines and teach operators methods and practise
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Engineering Technician: Machinist Standard. Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Level 3.
Training will take place on the job and also in day release at Cambridge Regional College.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Successful completion of the apprenticeship can lead to running their own machine cell with operators reporting in to them, further development on programming skills, supervisor roles etc
