We have an amazing opportunity for someone to join the Severn Trent Services team through a two year apprenticeship programme. Severn Trent Services provide water and waste services to companies nationwide, including the MoD and The Coal Authority.

Are you looking to start your career or possibly make a career change? Do you enjoy working outdoors, in a constantly changing environment? In this role you could be hands on carrying out operational work one day and the next your using your fantastic customer service skills to investigate, diagnose and resolve a problem at one of customers properties. We are looking for someone who wants to learn, and is willing to roll up their sleeves and jump right in.

You’ll be supported every step of the way, by your line manager and mentor.

The role involves being hands on, carrying out general maintenance tasks to run our sites as efficiently as possible and undertaking repairs to pumps, pipework and more on a reactive and planned basis – giving a real sense of achievement when you can see what the benefit of your work has resulted in. 

You will be working on a mixture of water and wastewater assets across our sites, such as Water Treatment Works, Sewage Treatment Works, Pumping Stations, Oil and Water Interceptors, Fire Boosters and more, all different in size and complexity. Once training is completed, you will have a great understanding and knowledge in Water and Waste water processes, Operating and Maintaining assets, Leakage detection with the option to develop your training in other areas after your apprenticeship is complete.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Within Severn Trent Services, you will complete this Level 2 Water Process Operative Apprenticeship, allowing you to develop the skills & experience required to become a Field Technician. 

You’ll combine on-the-job learning with formal, nationally recognised development training.
A Personal Development Plan will help drive your career progression, set, agreed & regularly reviewed with your line manager

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of your training, as long as you pass your end point assessment and have met your performance targets throughout your Apprenticeship, you will be offered an opportunity in a permanent role with us.
At the end of the programme you’ll take up a Field Technician role, where you’ll get to make a real difference

* Due to the travel required in this role applicants need to be able to drive and have a valid driving license * Due to the nature of some of our contracts you will be required to achieve full security clearance. *Individuals without level 2 English & Maths will need to achieve this prior to completing the apprenticeship.
