We are looking for a motivated, passionate individual to join our talented brigade as an Apprentice Commis Chef. Initially you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking and presentation of food. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside and learn from experienced Chefs.

Based on 40 hours at £4.81 per hour.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

What will the apprentice be doing?
Are you looking for a career and passionate about food? Ten Fourteen could be the place for you to kick start your apprenticeships, our chef apprentice programme offers you the chance to get paid to learn as you work. This is the first role on the way to becoming a Head chef. You will learn different roles in all aspects of the kitchen from our more experienced chefs, such as sous Chef and Chef de Partie.
Duties to include:
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene
- Preparing the ingredients for more a senior chef
- Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary work station
- Assisting in all aspects of Hygiene and Health and Safety, and working within company Food Safety guidelines
- Working in a team that focuses on food quality and strives to deliver the highest standard
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship Standard, including Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required).
Training will be provided at Kirklees College one day per week.
The end point assessment (EPA) is made up of a professional discussion, an observation in your workplace, completion of a set task and an online multiple-choice assessment.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Progression to Chef de Partie. Full time employment after successful completetion of the apprenticeship.
Go onto an advanced apprenticeship , high qualification or have a full time Job.
