    Once our own initial, mandatory induction training has been complete, pay will rise to £7.50 per hour (initial training should take 12 weeks to complete)

    Every staff member is required to work every other weekend. Shift times are 07.00-13.30, 13.30-18.00 and 18.00-22.00 and your shifts will fall within these times. Hours and shift pattern will be confirmed with individual on an individual basis.

What will the apprentice be doing?

* Assisting our wonderful residents with any personal care needs and supporting with their day to day living requirements. 

* Helping the cook with breakfasts and serving meals.

* Getting to know the residents and working with them and their families to help provide the very best care

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will first complete our in house, initial mandatory training induction, which consists of shadow training shifts, where you work with a senior staff member to learn the job first hand. This goes alongside some online training which can be done at home.

You will work towards the care certificate which is required for all care workers and gain CPD certified course certificates in up to 30 recognised care related courses.

Your final qualification will be your Adult Care worker level 2, provided through our training provider. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

We encourage our staff to choose a relevant area they are interested in and become ambassadors for that interest for example, skin care specialist, dementia friend, nutrition champion. We also encourage you to commence the level 3 apprenticeship.

About the employer

We are a small residential care home. We have single occupancy bedrooms. 10 of which are en-suite. We have wonderful communal rooms, including TV lounge, sun-room and dining room. We have modern adapted shower wet room and a bathroom with bath chair. Our residents have a variable range of care needs.
