What will the apprentice be doing?

Your role will include:

  • assisting the dentist in the dental surgery, with clinical situations and dealing with and communicating with patients
  • assisting with treatments and using the computer to assist with recording information
  • ensuring the cleanliness of the surgery and the readiness of instruments and materials for the dentist to use
  • working in the sterilisation room you would be responsible for ensuring that all equipment passes through the correct process ready for reuse
  • working on reception you will need to greet patients and book appointments, collect payments and file paperwork accurately
  • you will need to answer the telephone and deal with patient enquiries
