What will the apprentice be doing?

Reporting into, and being supported day to day by the Accounts manager, the Apprentice will learn how to:

  • Use our specialist accounting systems called ‘GAIN’.
  • Provide fixture entries.
  • Create invoices/credit notes for our Specialised Products department.
  • Check Shipbroker contracts.
  • Check owners/charters invoices for accuracy.
  • Assist with invoice reporting and queries.
  • To consistently be aware of and meet deadlines.
  • Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Accountancy Level 3 standard
  • Functional Skills English & Maths if needed
  • 15 month apprenticeship

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Ongoing employment following successful completion of the Apprenticeship, subject to business need and individual’s performance.
