What will the apprentice be doing?
As our apprentice welder, the role will begin on the shop floor shadowing our qualified and experienced welders. This is the candidates chance to gain as much knowledge of our product as possible. The experience gained at this point in the role will sculpt their experience. The candidate will be trained to assemble and weld high quality bespoke electric process heaters/pressure vessels for use in the oil and gas industry.
Activities will include:
- Reading engineering drawings and working to various worldwide standards preparation of materials
- Shadowing the manufacturing team to learn the EXHEAT approved processes
- General use of power tools
- Regular mentor sessions to ensure progression in all the welding processes is being achieved
- Producing, or contributing to the production of the hazardous area heaters to EXHEAT company standards
- Different fabrication methods
- Training to become a fully coded welder to worldwide specifications
- Next Steps:
- After the candidate has gained knowledge and experience, and demonstrated good health and safety processes, they will be tested with technical questions about the system (you will receive tutoring to gain this knowledge)
- Upon approval from college assessors – the candidate will be progressed towards various welding activities
- The candidate will spend time in various departments to gain a well-rounded understanding of the EXHEAT process
- Regular Reviews will unravel next steps to use the candidates skills to their highest ability.
