What will the apprentice be doing?

There will be a range of activities of which will include, the learning of the FP McCann management system and procedures including the maintaining of records. You will be trained in managing of relevant British Standards Health & Safety 45001, Quality Standard 9001 & Environmental 14001(2015). You will learn about the Risk management of the manufacturing process at all of the FP McCann operational depots. Specific training courses will be made available related to all management system standards, including training in the audit process.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Safety, Health and Environment Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.

Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths as required (exemptions apply). The successful candidate will also need to complete a diagnostic assessment, which will help us plan the appropriate support required to meet your individual needs.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Develop and become a key member of the SHE team
Become an experienced SHE Officer overseeing your own Precast depot
Pass you knowledge and skills on to others
Develop and train health and safety training packages

Things to consider

This position is between 2 sites a ten minute drive apart but both sites are remote and not on public transport routes therefore access to a vehicle and a full driving licence will be preferable. The sites are large, with factory and yard areas and there is likely to be a lot of walking involved on a daily basis. It can be dusty and dirty and subject to the elements.
