What will the apprentice be doing?

XPand Logistics Limited are recruiting for an International Freight Forwarding Apprentice, whose role will be focussed in the Ocean side. The successful candidate will learn all aspects of transport, including import, export & cross trade shipments. The role will provide a great opportunity for an introduction into the logistics industry.

  • Learning all modes of transport, both import and export from start to finish.
  • Quoting and billing shipments.
  • Tracking shipments and keeping customer informed.
  • Data entry.
  • Communicating both internally & externally.
  • Admin work to oversee a global 3PL operation.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 International Freight Forwarding apprenticeship standard.

  • On the job training delivered by the employer.
  • Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out:
  • Regular training.
  • Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop.
  • Identify, track and support 20% off the job training activities.
  • Quarterly formal progress review meetings; identifying learning achievements and next steps.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After completion of the apprenticeship the employee will be a fully multi-modal operator within the industry. This will allow for various career progressions either within an individual mode of logistics or progress to a Key Account Supervisor / Manager.
