What will the apprentice be doing?

The role will primarily develop practical skills in a wide range of areas, connected to land- based vehicles and machinery, whilst benefiting from full support and guidance.

  • General maintenance
  • Servicing
  • Fault finding and repair
  • After sales

Duties will vary and may be dependent on workload, so on occasion you may also be asked to support with wider duties, including:

  • Assisting qualified technicians in the workshop
  • Maintaining a clean working environment
  • Preparing machinery for collection
  • Assisting the parts sales staff with orders, including online purchases
  • Performing basic computer tasks, using the in-house systems
  • Completing job sheets
  • Customer support

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be working towards a Level 2 Land-based Service Engineer Apprenticeship Standard.

You will receive on and off the job training and support from an assessor and an Apprenticeship Advisor.

You will be required to attend Duchy College Stoke Climsland on a block release basis.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression to level 3 and potential for full time employment.
