What will the apprentice be doing?
We are looking for an apprentice Supply Chain Professional.
The successful candidate will initially spend a large amount of time supporting all supply chain functions; from purchasing, planning, inventory control and warehousing. Time will be spent in all areas to gain experience in the wide scope of supply chain.
Experience will be gained in all functions of Supply Chain, including the following day to day tasks:
· Supporting on running reports across warehouse, purchasing, planning and inventory control
· Expediting Purchase orders / chasing order confirmations
· Supporting in placement of indirect orders
· Carry out supplier performance measurement
· Continually seek and identify areas for improvement, in line with the strategic direction of the organization with a view to improving service levels to stakeholders
· Working closely with production planners to check material availability
· Supporting with cycle counts/inventory checks
· Maintain material master record fields appropriate to the supply chain functions
· Review customer expedite requests
· Review material supply issues
· Perform other specific and general duties as required and agreed
· Always ensure proper and professional commercial engagement
· Drive and support activities relating to the control of inventory
