What will the apprentice be doing?

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Your apprenticeship will last for 13 months. You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship. As you progress through your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in childcare. Your classroom days will be based in Birmingham and you will gain an NVQ Level 2.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

During the Intermediate Apprenticeship in childcare, you will have access to excellent training and development opportunities within the role, with the potential to progress on the Advanced Diploma, Level 3 Apprenticeship Early Years Educator.

Things to consider

You will need to attend our Training Academy in Birmingham City Centre for 18 days out of your whole apprenticeship, for your classroom-based learning and will be working within the nursery for the rest of the time with the support of your dedicated childcare assessor.

About the employer

Tender Years was opened in May 1990 by Mary and Ged Meechan and was taken on by their eldest daughter, Lisa Whitehouse in January 2008. Tender Years is now ran by the combined skills and effort of Lisa, Sarah (the Nursery Manager) and Donna (the Deputy Manager). We accommodate up to 74 children in total and have an experienced staff team who aim to ensure each and every child within our care is happy, contented and achieves their full potential.
