What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Contributing to a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and developmental care for children in the nursery through the creation of a stimulating, caring, inviting environment.
  • Ensuring the developmental needs of the children are met through the provision of a planned early years’ curriculum in accordance with The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and Every Child Matters Guidelines.
  • Ensuring the children that use the nursery service have both their physical and emotional needs supported in line with the nurseries best practices.
  • Working as part of the staff team to uphold the ethos and high standards of the nursery in accordance with all policies, procedures, and practices.
  • To welcome, support, and work in partnership with both parents and carers.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Core Components:

  • BTEC Level 2 Diploma for Early Years Practitioners
  • Early Years Practitioner Personal Attributes and Behaviours
  • EPA - Early Years Practitioner


Subject To Prior Attainment:

  • Functional Skills Maths Level 2
  • Functional Skills English Level 2
