What will the apprentice be doing?

A typical day

  • When you join we want you to learn and understand how our business works, so we will train you and immerse you in the Helpdesk - where our clients call in every day.
  • In this first rotation, you will help new and existing clients make payments into their accounts, amend their information and answer questions.
  • You'll also be running back office and administration tasks with accuracy and contributing to operational targets for the team.
  • As you progress, we will ensure you spend time in the back office Administration teams so you can see how the whole client journey comes together across the operation.
  • We will then move you across into Client Accounts – this has many sub-teams within it and you will get a chance to learn about a variety of tasks across Corporate Actions, Payments, Reconciliations and Withdrawals.
  • The work will involve using a few different systems, data skills, Excel and working with your team to answer simple and complex client queries or support a colleague in another part of HL.
