What will the apprentice be doing?

Your day-to-day tasks will be:

Throughout the apprenticeship you will be developing skills in these key areas for the business and learning about the industry as a whole. As you gain more experience your responsibilities will increase. 

  • Picking, processing and packing orders
  • Maintaining stock records and documentation
  • Preparing bespoke orders in Production
  • Taking deliveries
  • Checking for damaged/missed items
  • Storing goods
  • Moving stock by various methods
  • Loading goods for despatch
  • Other general duties i.e Cleaning
  • Safe use a range of equipment, machinery & vehicles relevant to your role

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprenticeship standard consists of:

  • Intermediate Standard Apprenticeship-Supply Chain Warehouse Operative
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths (Level 1/2) where applicable

All aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with your employer, and you will have regular site visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.

You will achieve a qualification in Supply Chain Warehousing Operative Level 2 Standard.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • On completion of the level 2 qualification, providing you show the correct skills and abilities, you will have the opportunity to progress onto a full-time position and possibly a level 3 apprenticeship.
  • We are looking to invest our knowledge, skills and time in the right person. This position has the potential to develop into a successful career for the right candidate with the position growing with the company.

Things to consider

Please be aware we work in a warehouse environment. The work can also be physically quite demanding and will involve climbing steps to collect stock so please consider this before applying. We offer 24 days holiday a year plus bank holidays. We close the business over the Christmas period to ensure all of the team are rested & ready for the New Year.
