What will the apprentice be doing?
This role will develop your knowledge, skills and competence in the Environmental Services Department and will involve:
- Opening, Distribution and Sending Post.
- Reviewing and completing service requests on Uniform database making sure that they go to the correct person.
- Checking, dealing with and responding to emails in the communal admin inbox, process online orders and applications.
- Answering telephone enquiries that come to the admin hunt group, passing messages on to the relevant officer, taking bookings and card payments.
- Inputting information on databases used within the department.
- Reception duties.
- Processing and resolving enquiries.
- Seeking and interpreting information, providing advice and willing to research where necessary.
- Maintaining confidentiality at all times in line with data protection.
- Providing support for the Service Development team.
- Cash handling
- Support development of publicity material, press releases, social media exposer and public relation activities regarding developing the waste services brand.
- Support the delivery of a programme of roadshows, events and other marketing campaigns.
- Support the development of commercial services which meet the needs of businesses located in the Cherwell district.
- Support the development the profitable growth of commercial waste services to support the financial challenges facing the Council.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will be studying for the Level 3 Administration apprenticeship which will be delivered either virtually or face to face at our Depot in Thorpe Lane, Banbury.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
We actively encourage apprentices to apply for roles within the Council on completion of their apprenticeship.
