What will the apprentice be doing?

Support children and staff during breakfast club on a rota basis.


Support children and staff in after school clubs if required.


Supervise children with ASD during lunchtimes.

 To participate in specific ASD training.

 Providing support for pupils by


Attending to personal needs and implementing related personal programmes, including social,


health, physical, hygiene and
welfare matters


Supervising and supporting pupils
ensuring their safety and access to learning


Establishing good relationships,acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs


Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 Early years practitioner

Maths & English level 2 if not already achieved. Appts with apprentice, employer & provider, observations of workplace as well as gathering evidence. Undertake self-assessment in last month of apprenticeship. The self-assessment must be submitted to the end point assessor as a source of evidence to prepare for End Point Assessment which will include a showcase portfolio; a project, employer reference & interview about the portfolio and project.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Full time role, teaching assistant/teacher.
