What will the apprentice be doing?

As our apprentice engineer – the role will begin on the shop floor. This is the candidates chance to gain as much knowledge of our product as possible. The experience gained at this point in the role will sculpt their experience.

Activities will include:

• Reading engineering drawings (wiring schematics and general arrangement)

• Mounting and wiring components in enclosures

• Shadowing the manufacturing team to learn the EXHEAT approved processes

• General use of power tools

• Regular mentor sessions to ensure progression

• Producing, or contributing to the production of the Thyristor Control Panels to EXHEAT company standards

 

Next Steps:

• After the candidate has gained knowledge and experience, and demonstrated good health and safety processes, they will be tested with technical questions about the system (you will receive tutoring to gain this knowledge)

• Upon approval from college assessors – the candidate will be progressed towards the test area, operating our test equipment to check the function of panels in the applicable tests

• The candidate will spend time in various departments to gain a well-rounded understanding of the EXHEAT process

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The successful candidate will be supported throughout their entire employment into the department of their choice and abilities. Each employee is an individual and as an apprentice at EXHEAT we would like to channel the candidate through each aspect of the business. Including but not limited to: • Research & Development • Document Control • Technical Sales • Engineering & Design • Project Management • Quality control • Goods in/out
