What will the apprentice be doing?

The apprenticeship will train the apprentice on all aspects of plumbing and heating. This will include:

  • Design
  • Installation
  • Servicing
  • Diagnosis
  • Repairs

You will be working in peoples homes installing boilers, pipework, radiators, fires, etc. Along with servicing, diagnosing issues, repairing and removal of old appliances.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Plumbing & Domestic Heating Technician Level 3 Training will done at 14 Orwell Road, Felixstowe and New Suffolk College and customers homes.

4 days a week will be spent at the business, 1 day a week will be spent at college.

With the business days being spent on site at customers homes, each day will vary from one to the next. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After this apprenticeship has completed and the apprentice is fully Gas Safe qualified, a position will be available to the apprentice to remain with the company as a fully qualified engineer.

Things to consider

Traveling to customers locations will be essential. By the end of the apprenticeship, you must have a full license so we can provide you with a company vehicle to drive and travel to customers. Be physically able, there will be a lot of heavy lifting, working in lofts and tight spaces.
