What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Provide technical support to stakeholders and document their outcome to facilitate the resolution of common queries.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose IT problems / faults and carry out relevant process to resolve.
  • Pro-actively provide information to stakeholders on the progress of outstanding support calls.
  • Communicate with all levels of stakeholders, talking them through steps to take to resolve issues or set up systems, keeping them informed of progress escalating to the appropriate member of the IT Team if necessary.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software assets.
  • Apply appropriate security policies in line with organisational requirements.
  • Administer security access requirements and permissions for stakeholders.
  • Address IT issues in business priority order while maintaining the companies service level agreements.
  • Document time logs and action taken on IT requests to ensure a clear audit trail and add to IT knowledge base.
  • Practice guided self-development to keep up to date with technologies to enhance relevant skills and take responsibility for own professional development.
  • Support installations, upgrades and configurations of new or existing hardware and software to agreed company standards.
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of data cabling for networked equipment.
