Metal finishing operative in an award-winning electroplating & anodising company based in Lowestoft. Our customers make parts for many things from spacecraft, to electric vehicles. They then apply special coatings on these parts for a variety of purposes such as to make the components harder, increase performance or stop them from rusting.

What will the apprentice be doing?
As a metal finishing operator, you will play a critical role in helping our company deliver excellent quality coatings for our customers.
This is your opportunity to
• Learn new technical skills
• Put your love of detail and precision to good use
• Be part of a strong team
At the end of 6 months we will expect you to be able to do the following with minimal supervision:
• Read the instructions that come with each customer order
• Inspect customer parts for damage
• Apply coatings to customer parts following company standards
• Keep records of results
• Package parts up for delivery

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The apprentice will be working toward the science manufacturing operative level 2 qualification on an on site basis. this means the training provider will visit you on site while you work and work will be set both in person at tutor visits and through virtual media.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon completion of the apprenticeship the apprentice will have the opportunity to apply for a metal finishing role within the company with the potential to progress into specialised areas.
