What will the apprentice be doing?
The purpose of this role is to welcome visitors to the surgery, providing a welcoming and friendly service. You will undertake all reception duties and deal with patients over the telephone, booking appointments and answering queries.
You will also undertake office administration duties to provide support to the Practice Manager and GPs.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
By the end of the apprenticeship, you will gain a Customer Service Practitioner Standard along with Functional Skills in Maths and English.
You will attend college on day release at NBC on a fortnightly basis and receive one to one support from a dedicated tutor. Your tutor will also visit you in the workplace every 10-12 weeks.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
You will have the opportunity to progress your career within the NHS following successful completion of your Apprenticeship. You will also have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 (A Level) Apprenticeship.
