What will the apprentice be doing?

The models and drawings you create will need to be created within our PDM system which is a digital management system which ensures they are available within our central library and can be used and accessed by our other design engineers.

The role will involve some visits to site to create surveys which can be used to produce the manufacture drawings.  This will require modelling of existing building parts and features to ensure the components will fit correctly and be easy for the on site engineers to install.

Once the drawings have been created we will take you through the complete issuing process to get the parts manufactured.  You will then follow your parts through the manufacture process, supporting the engineers where required.  This allows you to be fully involved with the process from survey through to design, manufacture and installation.

The day to day parts of this job will initially involve training, moving on to surveying, 3D CAD modelling, producing 2D technical drawings, printing, issuing and technically supporting the on-site engineers.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Engineering Design and Draughtsperson
  • Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills)
  • Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge)

Delivery Method
