What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be working on a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:

  • General bookkeeping and Payroll
  • Preparation of VAT Returns
  • Some office administration
  • Opening/sorting the post
  • Answering or calling customers on the telephone
  • Filing
  • Setting up and updating social media pages

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

This apprenticeship is delivered as a day release apprenticeship. Apprentices will need to attend our Stretford or Stockport campus 1 day a week 9am-4pm. Training will consist of booking transactions and controls, accounting software’s and elements of costings.
Apprentices will need to sit examinations as part of the apprenticeship at a college campus.

On successful completion you will receive a certificate for the Standard along with a qualification for AAT foundation certificate in accounting. 
AAT student membership will be included as part of the apprenticeship.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is the possibility of a full-time post upon successful completion of the apprenticeship for the right candidate and some support towards future training for a recognise accountancy qualifications.
