What will the apprentice be doing?

Job Overview The apprentice's responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills needed in the manufacturing of Industrial fans. As part of the apprenticeship, you will spend time in the Inspection and Quality Assurance (QA) department, as well as the Research and Development (R&D) department. Your journey of learning will begin in the Industrial Team learning all the core skills needed for manufacturing Elta products. This will create the foundations and skillset to expand into the Projects Team who produce the more technically advanced products build at the Fareham facility.

· Work as part of the flexible Industrial team.

· Learn all aspects of building Car Park, smoke and standard fans.

· Learn all aspects of building small, intermediate, and large impeller.

· Learn all aspects of project fan manufacturing, Atex training.

· Problem-solving; analysing and fixing the issues where appropriate

· Applying improvement techniques; implementing solutions where appropriate

· Good communicating and interaction with colleagues.

· Reading, interpreting, and understanding the component/assembly specification, diagrams, and drawing.

· Operating in line with health & safety, and environmental procedures identifying risks and hazards and identifying control measures where applicable.

· Quality control documentation. Identify and reporting of defects.

· Use of hand and machine tools to manufacture Elta products.

· Wiring of motors and terminal boxes in fan units.

· Testing of fan units.

· Lean manufacturing,5s.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Qualification/s to be obtained:

Engineering Fitter Level 3, and 1 further mandatory qualification that will be decided by the training provider from one of the following: Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) OR Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge) OR Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)

Delivery method: 

· The training will be delivered by Business Plus at Fareham College, an Ofsted Outstanding College. Your training will be delivered Day Release, and you will attend Fareham College. The schedule of this day release is to be confirmed. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Scope to become a permanent employee at the end of the Apprenticeship.
