What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Setting & operating a wide variety of conventional & CNC machines (milling, turning, grinding and mill turn)
  • Following operation sheets, in order to ensure parts are progressed through the factory on time
  • Achieving set production times and targets
  • Interpreting drawings & quality specifications
  • Carrying out quality checks
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety
  • Working in accordance with the company's policies & goals to ensure consistency
  • Any other duties that may reasonably be required
  • Develop career – Opportunities to go into CAD/CAM and rapid prototyping

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Engineering Operative Level 2 Standard, with support from your employer and Learning Unlimited.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

For our most driven and high-performing apprentices there will be the offer of full time employment and the opportunity to progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship.

Things to consider

Candidate must be able to attend our Pinxton Site for 3-4 days each week and attend college in Chesterfield for 1-2 day each week. You will be working on both practical and theory based projects. Please note, due to this vacancies start date (Sept), applicants will not be contacted until closer to the time of shortlisting (August-Approx)
