What will the apprentice be doing?

 Processing of all purchase invoices for UK companies on Factory Master system and Sage in a timely manner
 Ensuring supplier statement reconciliations are completed in line with monthly timetable
 Reconciliation of purchase invoices between Factory Master and Sage on a weekly basis
 Dealing with supplier queries arising on a timely basis
 Staff Expenses. Processing of all employee expenses and credit card statements ensuring all receipts are received and reviewed/matched.
 Banking.
 Preparation of proposed supplier payments and loading of such payments to the banking system (when authorized)
 Preparation of own assigned bank reconciliations and review of those completed by the other finance assistant.
 Maintain process and systems procedural documentation
 Ensure new processes and actions required to close identified gaps/weaknesses are documented within a reasonable timeframe
 Ensure that all tasks are processed in accordance with the accounting timetable and to carry out the month end accounting procedures to close the cashbook and compile reports.
 Perform duties in accordance with all relevant legislation, in particular the health and Safety at Work Act.
 Apply the requirements of relevant externally accredited business, environmental, health & safety, and quality systems as appropriate within the areas of responsibility.
 Perform other duties which the Group may reasonably require from time to time.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Accounts / Finance
Assistant (Standard):
Level 2 Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
Qualification achieved: Level 2 AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting
You will cover the knowledge through attending the AAT Level 2 class at college and also receive work based assessor visits to build a portfolio of evidence covering the knowledge skills and behaviours as detailed within the Apprenticeship standard Functional Skills English and maths (if required).
