What will the apprentice be doing?

·         Dental Nursing skills of setting up a clinic and assisting the dentist in treating patients.

·         Cross infection control at the dental practice

·         Decontamination of dental instruments

·         Dealing with patient appointments

·         Learning about patient confidentiality

·         Learning about safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults

  • The apprentice will receive training in all aspects of dental nursing in 2 locations:
  • 4 days/week training will be a City Dental Practice.
  • 1 day/week training will be at BMet College.

  • The apprentice will gain a Level 3 Dental Nursing qualification which will allow them to register as a qualified dental nurse with the General Dental Council.

City Dental Practice is a 3-surgery family dental practice in Winson Green, which is in West Birmingham close to the city centre. It has been run by the husband-and-wife team of Dr Amit Kohli and Dr Leila Michaeli since 2013 and was established in 1983. Our friendly team is enthusiastic about training new team members to achieve their potential in dental nursing.
