What will the apprentice be doing?

We are now seeking to appoint:
Job Title:   Teaching Assistant
Required:   As soon as possible
Contract:    Full time - Term time only

The post includes classroom support and pastoral care.  There may be at times also the requirement to assist with the physical/personal care of our students.  You should have excellent communication and written skills with high expectations of learning and behaviour and a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification. 

In addition, you may work as part of the SEND team to successfully include all students on the SEND register into every aspect of school life. In addition to this you may work with a range of different students as directed by the SENDCO.

U-educate is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as well as providing evidence of qualifications.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020). This means that certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’ and do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Teaching Assistant Level 3 Training plus Functional Skills where needed.

Delivery is fully remote using classroom and meeting technology. Sessions with educator are 1-1  every 3 weeks for 2 hours.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

It is hoped but not guaranteed that after completion of your qualification that an offer of full time employment will be made.
