What will the apprentice be doing?
The purpose of this role is to:
To provide and maintain an efficient service to all areas under your control following best practice
To comply with food safety and health & safety legislation in all areas of responsibility
To assist in the preparation and service of food items and beverages. Working to maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, service and quality; and
To provide a high standard of cleaning service to the Café at Energus according to the cleaning specification provided.
This role will require you to:
Assist in keeping a clean and well organised kitchen to retain our 5* health and hygiene rating
Preparation of all working, service and dining areas
Assisting in the preparation, presentation and serving of food items and beverages, including barista duties if required.
Taking cash and maintaining necessary sales.
To promote excellent customer relations in a professional manner with the ability to communicate effectively, taking personal responsibility for delivering excellence.
Cleaning and servicing equipment, e.g. vending machine, coffee machine etc.
Clearing and cleaning of all service, preparation and eating areas, utensils and equipment.
Contract cleaning rotas are to be adhered to at all times and areas are to be regularly cleaned throughout the day.
Completion of all necessary company documentation including HACCP requirements, temperature records, cleaning rotas.
Carry out special duties of work outside the normal daily routine as required.
Attend all Health & Safety training meetings as required and complete monthly statutory quizzes.
Ensure the storeroom is kept tidy and the itinerary of non-consumables is kept up to date
Ensure compliance with GDPR (Data Protection); and
Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested

This apprenticeship is delivered in line with Apprenticeship Standard ST0228 and will be delivered in conjunction with our nominated training provide - Lakes College, West Cumbria
