What will the apprentice be doing?

Our Apprentice scheme will include placements in different areas of the business providing varied exposure and the opportunity to fully understand what Winbro does. After completing the rotation of different business areas, your development will be tailored to meet your individual needs, with the support to help you perform to your full potential.

Duties include:

•       To work within our Machine Systems department on the build, commission and test of complex non-conventional machine tools

•       To work within our Product Services department in our tool room, manufacturing high precision, one off tools for use on our non–conventional machining processes

•       To work within our Advanced Machining department supporting the manufacture of high precision turbine blades, vanes and structures across a field of safety critical industries to exacting world class standards

•       Learning and applying the various methods by which quality is embedded through processes within Winbro Group Technologies

•       To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Qualification

  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support
  • Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge)
  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Engineering Technician - Technical Support Technician Pathway

End-Point Assessment (EPA)

  • Practical observation
  • Professional discussion

Delivery Method

Currently delivered two days per week (Term Time Only) at Loughborough College, first and second year of learning. One day per week (Term Time Only) at Loughborough College third year of learning.
