What will the apprentice be doing?

Working as part of the Line Equipment Workshop Team, duties of the role include:

  • inspection and maintenance of line equipment, such as containers, trailers and heavy vehicle equipment
  • ensuring the equipment is in working order and that it meets all legal requirements. 
  • undertake formal training through Grimsby Institute to attain an Engineering Operative Level 2

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard – Engineering Operative
  • Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (skills)
  • Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (knowledge)
  • Functional Skills in maths and English at Level 1 (if applicable)
  • A Bespoke programme of practical, technical and vocational learning 
  • This apprenticeship will operate as a day release model.
