What will the apprentice be doing?
We have an excellent position for a mathematically competent trainee in our busy estimating department.
The successful candidate will have the following key competencies:
- Good analytical skills to understand the different components that are used to make up the displays
- Proficient in the use of Excel to allow our clients to understand the wide range of cost permutations that are available to them
- Able to work as part of a team sharing ideas and expertise
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Updating existing estimates to reflect design changes
- Preparing new estimates using our Tharstern Estimating Systems
- Reviews with the Sales Team and Structural Designers on the efficient manufacture and production of new and existing displays
- Updating the Tharstern System with new materials and suppliers
- Creating pricing matrices to help clients understand costs of alternative designs
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The training will provide a comprehensive understanding of the design, manufacture and distribution of temporary (paper onboard) point of sale which plays a key role in creating an exciting retail experience.
This will lead to completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration.
The training will be done on-site with the support of the BPIF, with both planned offsite workshops and virtual learning.
Having both the design and a wide range of manufacturing services on site means that you can benefit from a full “hands on” experience.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship in Business Administration is an excellent foundation for a wide range of more senior roles within both Wilmot-Budgen and the wider graphics industry.
The skills that you will learn and develop will give you the competence to working in a highly a creative and rewarding industry that combines the technical knowledge of materials, the creative skills of marketeers and the reality of what is commercially possible.
