What will the apprentice be doing?

Tasks and responsibilities will include: Preparation, staining, assembly of leather goods Cutting Manual Hand Stitching Keeping the work area tidy Following company guidance and adhering to health and safety policy The manufacture of equestrian leather goods will be the main aspects of the role, but you may also be asked to complete other tasks.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

LEAN Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Functional Skills Maths and English, if required Workplace Training

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression depends on the person and this will be reviewed throughout the apprenticeship and decided on completion. It is hoped that the successful applicant will have their hard work and dedication rewarded by a full-time position. The right candidate will have the opportunity to continue to develop their skills and become part of the small team on a permanent basis.

Things to consider

This is an engineering environment, candidates must be responsible for wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. The vacancy is in a remote location which is challenging to reach by public transport. We strongly advise that candidates who do not drive research how they will travel to and from work before applying for the role. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

We are a small family run business based in Walsall, the heart of the English leather industry. Over the past 45 years we have gained the experience and knowledge needed, which allows us to produce bridles of extremely high quality, using only the very best materials. Our production is focused towards supplying equestrian retailers with every aspect of bridle work. Along with our standard range of items we also offer a bespoke service. We are more than happy to work with our customers on their own designs, whether it be for single or multiple purchases.
