What will the apprentice be doing?

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • To assist the manager and work efficiently within the organisation
  • To deal with email correspondence and telephony
  • To maintain files and the filing system
  • To be point of contact for visitors, service users and signposting to other colleagues
  • An awareness of social media and the ability to follow up from demands emerging from it efficiently
  • Attend training courses and sessions, as may be required, to respond efficiently to the varied demands of the organisation
  • To carry out other duties as may be assigned by the manager within the scope of the role

 

Essential characteristics:

  • Ability to take instructions both verbally and in written form
  • Ability to maintain financial and other records
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices
  • Able to receive visitors and to deal with their queries
  • Must be computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to deal with work of a confidential nature and maintain client confidentiality
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines and where necessary advise manager if delay will occur or help is needed
  • Ability to work with service users from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds within an equal opportunities framework
  • Have an open, friendly and enthusiastic disposition

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship the qualification obtained will be a Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard.

 

The apprentice will be given sufficient time to undertake their "off-the-job" requirement of the apprenticeship.

 

Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both Catbird and the BPIF. You will be assigned a training coordinator to ensure that you have the best training available. Training requirements will be discussed at the point of employment to suit your individual needs and business needs. Most training and studying will be site-based.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship a full-time position will be available in the business.

A small team of friendly workers, we provide most of our facilities from under one roof. We use the latest software and large format printing, sign and screen printing processes. Due to challenges in the printing trade, we have maintained manual screen printing processes so that we can service clients at short notice.
