What will the apprentice be doing?

Prepare and train for a full-time role with 4th Corner after completion of your apprenticeship
College Study:

4th Corner Apprentices combine working with block release learning at College, who provide ongoing mentoring and on-site assessment
Soft Landscaping:

Your day-to-day duties will involve:

Planting to a scheme from plans
Turfing and seeding lawns
Clearing and preparing areas for landscaping
Planting and pruning trees and shrubs
Weeding and other maintenance activity


What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours as defined by the standard
Workplace visits and assessments to build portfolio for EPA
Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at work
Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance OR Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides
Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)
You will be required to compile a portfolio of evidence during the apprenticeship up until gateway – showcases 20% off-the-job training took place

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Successful completion of this apprenticeship will stand you in good stead for a career in horticulture.

There is also the potential for educational progression onto a Level 3 Horticulture course.

Things to consider

Being part of a mobile team, with early start times from Banbury. This role can be physically demanding. Work is undertaken in open and public spaces such as parks and communal green and urban spaces, in private gardens, at commercial businesses or on building sites when installing new planting schemes
