What will the apprentice be doing?
- To process invoices accurately and in a timely manner adhering to supplier/subcontractor terms and conditions.
- To complete monthly statement reconciliations to agreed timescales.
- To complete weekly payment runs in accordance with supplier/subcontractor payment terms.
- To communicate effectively with customers; face to face, on the telephone and via email acting in line with IW values.
- Log and match invoices to Purchase Orders.
- Set up new suppliers in line with preferred supplier list liaising where required with Procurement.
- Raising cheques for supplier payments.
- Scan and file paperwork promptly to facilitate its easy retrieval.
- Assist external and internal customers to resolve their queries, escalating issues where necessary.

We are offering the opportunity of a Finance Apprenticeship to complete Level 3 Assistant Accounting Apprenticeship. Apprenticeships are a fantastic career move as they give you the opportunity to earn whilst you learn.
As a company we have significant experience of employing and training apprentices. The successful applicant will work alongside experienced employees, working flexibly both from home and in our Head Office based at Chipping Sodbury, to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become a successful Finance Administrator.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3.
This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in an accounting or finance role. Their work could include assisting in the day to day financial activities such as data entry to month end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements.
You will be studying the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. This level will encourage you to master more complex accounting principles in both Bookkeeping and Management Accounting.
You will study 5 units:
- Financial Accounting; Preparing Financial Statements (FAPS).
- Management Accounting Techniques (MATS).
- Tax Processes for Business (TPFB).
- Business Awareness (BUAW).
- Advanced Synoptic Assessment (ADSY) which forms part of your End Point Assessment.
Training will be provided by attending either face-to-face classroom based lessons, Live Online sessions or OnDemand. An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of your time towards it.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
A permanent role in the Finance department would be considered for the right candidate..
