The position will be within our projects department who specialise in the design & installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning & plumbing. The position is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience within the business whilst also balancing study on a day release basis.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The position is office based and the candidate would be involved with the following day to day:

  • Formulating a wide range of tenders from receipt to final issue.
  • Composing detailed material take-offs from scaled drawings and specification documents, issuing out material, plant lists and documents to both suppliers and subcontractors
  • Compiling all associated costs and the overall population of information into a tender format for issue in the time scales provided.

This hands-on experience will be complimented by one day per week at college where you will be studying for a Level 4 Qualification in Construction and Built Environment. This is a 3 year course that meets the knowledge requirements of the standard and is approved by the industry’s recognised professional bodies meeting the educational requirements for Technician status or the equivalent level of membership

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 4 Qualification in Construction and Built Environment. 
  • One day at DCG and the rest of the time at the work place.

Things to Consider •You will be working for a small organisation allows any individual to gain more access to 121 training and achieve more long terms goals in the organisation. •25 + 8 Bank Holidays ( 5 Years Services provides additional 3 days) •Free Car Park. •Health Insurance •Due to the nature of this role and site safety requirements, you will need to be aged 18 or over by any applicable start date. •Although the role is office based there will be opportunities to travel with senior members of the team to gain site experience. As we carry out a variety of works across the UK there may occasionally be some out of hours working / overnight stays depending on the demands of particular projects.
