What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Learning and understanding the process from start to finish.
  • Placements in each department on rotation,
  • The apprentice will learn to operate & work with various metals, machines and processes.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • This is a four year level 3 / advanced apprenticeship.
  • Training in year 1 is delivered full time at the MTC in Coventry to gain a level 2 foundation competency qualification and commencement of a level 3 knowledge qualification which you will complete in years 2 and 3
  • Year 2 delivery is block release 
  • Year 3 and 4 MTC trainers will meet you in the workplace to complete a level 3 competency qualification and end point assessment

On successful completion the apprentice will recieve a level 3 Engineering Technician standard apprenticeship

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Depending on the outcome of the apprenticeship and the path they take, we would look to offer permanent positions within their specialism or within the Engineering support function who are effectively process experts who float and support as needed.

We have had great success with previous apprentices who have a strong understanding of the process and in turn have progressed to role of great impact.
