What will the apprentice be doing?

Duties to include:

·         Building maintenance/fixing furniture

·         Repair work – Maintenance of buildings and school premises

·         Reactive repairs

·         Checking fire alarms

·         Checking emergency lighting systems

·         Carrying out water checks

·         Painting and decorating

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

·         Intermediate Apprenticeship Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 standard 

·         Block release to our Stephenson campus, Coalville. (Part of the SMB College Group)

·         Functional skills if necessary.

·         On-the-job training.

·         Off-the-job training.

Things to consider

• Facility is open throughout school holidays – this is not a term time post. • You will be working in an environment with pupils with behavioural problems. • DBS Check will be required. • Candidate will be required to travel to number of sites, therefore ability to travel independently and access to own transport is necessary.
