What will the apprentice be doing?

Key responsibilities include:

  • Grass cutting and mowing to all forms of grass and lawn areas, flower beds and shrubberies.
  • Tree surgery, hedge cutting, grounds maintenance, line marking, nature conservation and weed control.
  • Gritting and snow clearance, maintenance and inspections and much more.
  • We work with a range of outside spaces to ensure that they are properly maintained and fulfil their role for visitors and customers.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As part of the Horticulture Landscape Training at the end of your apprenticeship you will be fully trained in Emergency First Aid at Work, Pesticides and Maths and English Level 2.  Your training with the employer will be carried out with experienced colleagues in Hertfordshire, North London and surrounding areas.   The one day release training will be held at Capel Manor College in Enfield.

Once the apprenticeship has finished our Company will give each apprentice the opportunity to grow within the business, our vision is to grow our own qualified staff, and the apprenticeship scheme is one method of achieving this goal.

Things to consider

The applying candidate must consider that the role is physically demanding and requires outdoor working in all weathers. Other aspects of the work include early starts. This role will require a full driving license.
