What will the apprentice be doing?

CNC setter / operator is a key element within our unique process, where electroplating techniques are merged with precision machining.You will be responsible for;

  • Setting and general operating of CNC lathes.
  • Maintaining tight tolerances.
  • Meeting department targets.
  • Maintaining daily check on machinery and equipment.
  • Be familiar with HSE, COSHH regulations.
  • Keep the working environment clean and tidy.
  • Conform with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Supporting electroplating, polishing and inspection when required.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The candidate will follow a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme and study towards a full Engineering Technician standard. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College – South & West. If the candidate does not hold GCSE grades A-C (9-4) or equivalent, they will be required to complete a Level 2 Functional Skill in the relevant subjects.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Fully skilled CNC Setter / Operator / Programmer on both single and twin spindle machines with multi axis. Future growth within the company.
