What will the apprentice be doing?

  • You will be involved in highly skilled, complex, precision work, machining components from specialist materials using CNC machine tools such as centre lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines.


  • The apprentice will also gain experience using sheet metal CNC machines – for cutting, punching & folding fine sheet metal work.  Plus, hands on practical skills in laser marking, engraving to fabrication and welding.


  • To learn how to run production jobs on the CNC Machines and to carry out all inspection duties required to ensure that parts are manufactured correctly to the drawing and meet tight deadlines.

Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing

Level 2 Diploma in Machining

Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering – Machining

Functional Skills in English & Maths (Exemptions apply)


Mentorship and training will be provided by the Workshop Manager


This is an Advanced Apprenticeship, working in a purpose-built engineering site, where the Company will train you to be a competent CNC Machinist and also gain wider engineering craft skills over a 3 to 4-year period. It will involve attending college weekly during term time and with regular assessments conducted by the College.
