What will the apprentice be doing?
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to complete the Signage Technician apprenticeship. You will receive ‘on the job’ training in all aspects of the signage industry.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be happy working as a team member supporting colleague
- Using your own initiative when necessary
- Ideally you will have a flair for design, some knowledge of photoshop and coral draw
- Have excellent IT skills
- You must be comfortable and happy to work from height and have excellent customer service skills. We are looking for a candidate with excellent time-keeping
- On an average day you will be receiving an initial enquiry, designing artwork, quoting, manufacture of the signage, through to fitting, whilst liaising with the customer
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
During your apprenticeship you will work towards Level 3 Signage Technician.

Throughout your journey you will be supported by both Direct Signs (Northern) Ltd and the BPIF. You will be assigned a training coordinator to ensure that you have the best training available. Training requirements will be discussed at the point of employment to suit you and the business needs. Most training and studying will be site based. You should be comfortable with planning your work load as you progress through the apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once qualified you will be able to work as a signage technician within the industry.
