What will the apprentice be doing?
Whilst studying and learning all about childcare, the apprentice will be introduced to what else is incorporated in life at a busy Nursery. This will include helping at mealtimes, becoming creative and messy whilst playing with the children. Observing the children and communicating appropriately. Encouraging independence whilst supporting progress. There will be an element of housekeeping, ensuring the Nursery is clean and tidy and the children are kept safe.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The apprentice would be assigned an assessor through the College, who would typically come out to visit in the workplace to assess workplace competence. Day release at Cambridge campus once a week .
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once qualified at Level 2, the opportunity to progress to Level 3.
Once qualified at Level 3, to become a permanent member of staff at Little Teds. Have key children, continue with CPD in areas of safeguarding, Senco and Enco. Also, an opportunity to become a room leader in baby area, main room or Pre School.
