What will the apprentice be doing?

The apprentices will be learning how to manufacture precision components for a vast array of customers, whether they are F1 race cars or items for landing gear on an aircraft, Alan Spargo make them and are a trusted manufacturer. Test/check repaired equipment for operational readiness. Provide operational assistance/instruction to others as needed.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x2 days per week either at Uxbridge, Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship. The apprentice will be required to complete:

  • Work towards gaining a full Level 3 engineering apprenticeship.
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
  • Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours.
  • Standard and End Point Assessment.
  • Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT (if required).

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)

After a further period of skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support
  • Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) - for all starts from 1st July 2017

Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job role.
