What will the apprentice be doing?

As an Apprentice Engineering Technician you will join our Engineering Team. This position offers a great deal of variety:

  • Electrical Wiring, varying from lighting to high speed manufacturing equipment
  • Mechanical Assembly of pumps motors and valves
  • Electrical Control Testing and fault finding
  • Onsite Installation, Commissioning and Machine Modifications
  • Routine Maintenance on modern food manufacturing equipment
  • PLC Programming

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

On this programme you will study towards one of the available pathways. Depending on your job role, you will study a variety of units in Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (or equivalent), BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and NVQ Level 3 Diploma.

Candidates will attend college upto fulltime during year one of the apprenticship programme, and attend work during college holidays.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion there may be the opportunity to progress onto higher level qualifications.
